La Jolla, California, United States
Jeffery Kelly is a Professor of Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute, California Campus. He received his BS in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1982 and his PhD in Organic Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986.

A central focus of his research is to understand the principles of protein folding and to comprehend the basis for misfolding and aggregation diseases to develop novel therapeutic strategies using chemistry, biophysical and biological approaches.

He examines the bioorganic and biophysical chemistry of aberrant conformational changes in proteins associated with misfolding diseases, seeking to develop new approaches for preventing these diseases with purposefully designed small molecules.
