Katherine (Katie) Agre of Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota, is a genetic counselor in the Department of Clinical Genomics. Katie received her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Genetic Counseling from the University of Minnesota. She began her career at Mayo Clinic in June 2016. She has provided genetic counseling services in various indications including cancer, cardiology, general, and diagnostic odyssey patients. Her clinical interest lies within cardiology where she sees indications such as amyloidosis, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, familial hypercholesterolemia, and others. She is also the primary counselor in the Marfan Clinic where she sees patients due to personal and/or family history of aortopathy.
Katie is actively involved in research projects and enjoys her work in mentoring and supervising students interested in the field of genetic counseling. In addition to her work at Mayo Clinic, Katie is an active member of the National Society for Genetic Counselors. She is a Co-Chair for the Familial Hypercholesterolemia Working Group and an active member of the Membership Committee and Amyloidosis Working Group.
