Anciennement Association Paulette Ghiron Bistagne contre l’amylose, aujourd’hui l’Association caritative française contre l’amylose est régie par la loi de 1901.

Les buts déclarés de l’Association sont :
• Favoriser la recherche médicale pour lutter contre l’Amylose,
• Améliorer la connaissance de cette maladie auprès des publics concernés (médecins, malades, organismes divers).
• Développer les synergies avec des associations existantes traitant des maladies génétiques.
• Contribuer au « confort des malades » en « brisant » leur solitude face à la maladie (communication entre malades, informations sur l’avancement de la recherche).
