Association Française contre l’Amylose is a charitable association governed by the law of 1901. It was founded in 1994 and was previously known as Paulette Ghiron Bistagne Association against Amyloidosis, the object of which was initially limited to hereditary amyloid neuropathies.

The stated goals of the Association are:

• Promote medical research to combat amyloidosis.
• Improve knowledge of this disease among the public concerned (doctors, patients, various organizations).
• Develop synergies with existing associations dealing with genetic diseases.
• Contribute to “patient comfort” by “breaking” their loneliness in the face of illness (communication between patients, information on the progress of research).
