Robert A. Vescio is a medical director at multiple myeloma and amyloidosis program in the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, Cedars Sinai. He earned his medical degree from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine followed by residency and post doctorate from the same university. Dr. Vescio then completed fellowship from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center.
 
Dr. Vescio is a specialist in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. His clinical areas include amyloidosis and multiple myeloma. His research interests include monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, a related condition which in some cases develop into multiple myeloma. His laboratory work has led to an improved understanding of multiple myeloma pathogenesis, including a potential link with human herpes virus-8 infection. Dr. Vescio has been cited as one of the top specialists in multiple myeloma and amyloidosis in “America’s Top Doctors for Cancer.”
